On Sunday, October 9, the Lakeland Lodge had it’s annual trip to the James A.Haley VA Hospital. This trip is embarked upon by the Lodge to present donated items to the patients. These include such necessities as toiletries and items the patients usually don’t have.
Our Lodge members also cook lunch for patients and staff. Our chair ladies took control of about 15 Elks that cooked and served lunch to all patients and staff. The team served 600 lunches at the hospital in a 2 hour period, and cleaned everything up. To see the response from everyone was tremendous!
Hats off to the Lakeland Elks, but also to our 2 chair people, Char Fischer and Kristine Francks, for their hard work.
