I can hear you asking yourselves, “Who were our Exalted Rulers”? Were they pleasant to be around or were they too familiar?  Were they sober-faced or were they sour-pusses? If they were young they probably didn’t know much. If they were old they were called “Old Stiffs”. If they went to church they were called hypocrites, if not they were heathens. If they drank they were souses and if they didn’t they were tightwads.  If they did’t speak to everyone they were stuck up. If they looked around they were snooping and if they didn’t they were unobservant. If they tried to settle complaints they needed the wisdom of Solomon. If they worried about them they went crazy. What ever you thought our Exalted Rulers were, they did an outstanding job. If you were never an Exalted Ruler, don’t complain, because they did the best they could. One of our Exalted Rulers, Joe Chickalone, was killed in an auto accident before he could complete his term in 1978. Nine of our Ezalted Rulers served a two year term.
